Berlin 2011

I went to Berlin at the end of August 2011 to go to a party thrown by the SlothCollective at Berghain Kantine. CREEP, Kim Anh and Romy XX were DJing, and Light Asylum and Black Cracker were performing. It was worth the trip, plus Berlin is just awesome.

You – CREEP featuring Nina Sky

I finally saw CREEP (Lauren Flax + Lauren Dillard) on stage a couple of weeks ago at XOYO for Stag and Dagger after having missed their Fabric gig in April (I arrived at the venue as they were packing their gear, ugh). Anyhow, I was really chuffed to see them play live and they were great [...]

MEN will be releasing their debut album Talk About Body on Monday 14 February (IAMSOUND Records). I have it already and it is awesome. (If You Want Something) Go geddit! For the pleasure of your eyes and ears, have a look at the music video for Who Am I To Feel So Free, it’s excellent [...]

New track from Hercules And Love Affair!

“My House”, a track from Hercules And Love Affair‘s upcoming album Blue Songs was made available on Soundcloud a few days ago by their PR agency, Freeman PR. It does very well what it’s supposed to do: fill us with excitement at the thought of the album finally being launched on January 31 (Moshi Moshi [...]

Holly Miranda at the Westminster Reference Library

It was an intimate concert, which made her music sound even more intense. Her voice was absolutely beautiful and her band was awesome [...]

A weekend of music

On Thursday, Mother Festival kicked off. Mother is a DIY project organised by Dafne Boggeri and Noga Inbar with the help of Nicole Emmenegger, which is dedicated to women’s contemporary music and art. It’s a 3-part festival, the first was held in Tel-Aviv and the second in London this weekend. On Thursday I particularly liked [...]

Paris trip

We took the coach recently to go to Paris to see the Chicks On Speed, MEN and spend the weekend with the Frenchies. Unfortunately, the COS cancelled their gig, well, they actually cancelled their whole tour in France, which is a pity for the French but anyway MEN was there and played. Despite some sound [...]

Beach House vs Grizzly Bear

I saw Beach House yesterday at the Roundhouse. They were supporting Grizzly Bear although I don’t think the word ‘supporting’ is appropriate in this case. I have seen Beach House live three times but yesterday they were particularly dreamy. The accoustic at the Roundhouse is pretty good. I don’t know if it’s because I had [...]
